Less is more: less instructions, you'll need to take notes (important for pitch)!

People have something in common: same organization
Fantastic for funding applications/ funders: 3-4 hours for a plan

Purpose:
  • Ask for help & receive help
10 minutes:
  • Space to pitch project (first come, first served OR other ways to vote)
    • If you have one and want to adjust
    • If you want to push yourself to make something happen
  • Invitation: this is the place to give, to support the holders, not the place for ego
    • If you have insights for your own project, keep them in your pocket
    • Give and take
    • Support each other
  • 2 min- Silence
  • Put up the board
    • First-come, first-served, training space
    • CAPITAL letters, text box with 10-word limit (keep it concise)
    • Put your name next to it
  • Hear Holders pitch their project 20s
  • Choose a project: Don't be smaller than 4, bigger than 5.
  • What's the quest: Participants pose questions
    • Project owner
    • Strategic Allies
    • Core team
    • Broader team
    • Resources
    • Clear Purpose & Needs
    • What is the quest behind the purpose: personal/ organization drive
  • What's missing?
    • 3-min pitch to introduce project (from last round)
    • Holder switch camera off (Reduce empathy)
    • Participants discuss (brutally honest & immensely kind) and Holder listen & take notes only (keep silent)
    • If there's something that's hurtful, please remember it's not you it's just your project, be open to receive what is needed, but reject what is not needed
    • Post-it with different colors for participants & Holder
    • Holder pay close attention to what's within
    • Hosting team check in on people (tending with care, drinks, etc.). NOT interfere with their reflective process/ give advice. Simply to give emotional support.
  • Round 3: What's next
    • Invite Holders to update their project in 3 minutes
    • Finish up writing the project, tighten up

  • Circle of Gratitude
    • What they're gratful for?
    • One action they'll take to make project a reality.
  • Invitation at the end for participants: What did you learn, for your own projects?

ProAction Cafe:
  • Like this without turning camera off, straightforward dialogue, no template
  • Better to ProAction Cafe to clarify needs, then Design Lab
  • Incorporating learning in their practice

What I learnt about this practice/ group/ self?
What possibilities are opening up for you?
What do you need to put this into practice?
What are you going to do, when & what?
- Practice: Good for reminding to put ego down
- Group: Very supportive
- Self: Really need to change my context and try more? Why do I need to be louder? More prep?

Possibilities
- I can lead a group through this!
- Don't know clearly the design principles, really need to read more, delve deeper

Put into practice
- Team

Commitment
- Share this with my team
- Next Sunday (28th Nov)
